Like most great ideas, Hockey Night in NoVa came about during a discussion between family and friends talking about high school hockey and what could be done to improve the experience for the players.  How amazing would it be for the players to get out on the ice with hundreds of their classmates cheering them on?  To receive accolades on social media and basically get the recognition they deserve in a sport that is not a main-stream school supported sport!  Enter, Hockey Night in NoVa!
